Santa Cruz
The SANTA CRUZ was delivered to the Oldenburg Portugiesische Dampfschiffs Rhederei in Hamburg at the Deutsche Werft in Hamburg in 1938 and was used in the fruit trade. In 1940 the Navy took over the ship and converted it into the auxiliary cruiser Thor. On November 30, 1942, the auxiliary cruiser lay next to the Uckermark in Yokohama. The supplier's cargo exploded and the auxiliary cruiser moored to the side was so badly damaged that it was declared a total loss
