Millerntor
The freight steamer MILLERNTOR belongs to the standard freighters type Hansa B. The steamer was built in 1944 at Nakskov Skibsvaerft A / S and in 1945 at the Flender shipyard in Lübeck. In 1945 the ship was in Flensburg and was managed by the MOWT as EMPIRE LUNE. Sold to Sword Line, New York in 1948 and renamed ALABAMA SWORD. Sold to Liberia as TEXAS SWORD in 1962 and renamed as ZEPHYR. Accumulated and caught fire on the first trip near Gladden Spit. The wreck was towed to New Orleans and declared a total loss there. In 1964 the ZEPHYR changed hands within Liberia and was named CARINA. The freighter was repaired, was named SAPHO I in 1964 and was sailing under the Liberian flag as CORINTHIAN GLORY from 1967. In 1969 the freighter was sold to Karachi for demolition.
