  • The two steam loggers GL? CKSTADT and ELBE were built in 1911 at the JL Meyer shipyard in Papenburg. When they were put into service, they were given the fishing numbers SG 22 and SG23. Both loggers sailed under the flag of the Glückstadt herring fishery. In 1917 both ships were chartered by the Imperial Navy and used as naval auxiliary ships. During the operation against the Baltic island of Oesel, the GLÜCKSTADT logger was lost due to a mine hit. After the war the ELBE was returned. In 1931 the shipping company went bankrupt and the entire fleet was sold to Emden.
